Our best oven-to-table recipes
July 1, 2025When life gets busy, we all need a few trusty oven-to-table recipes up our sleeve. We’re talking about those times when you’re after a stunningly delicious dish that only needs a few minutes of your time to pull together some clever ingredients, which you can then pop in the oven and leave it to do all the hard work.
That’s where our oven-to-table recipes come in. And when you make everything in a beautiful dish, you can then take it straight to the table for everyone to enjoy. Plus, you won’t be left with a huge pile of washing up afterwards. Genius!
That’s where Jamie’s Big Love serveware collection comes in! We’re obsessed, because it’s not only super-practical, it’s bold, beautiful and shows off food to its best. Ready for minimal washing up, but maximum satisfaction, and a gorgeous-looking dinner table? Let’s get stuck in.
Terrific tarts & pies
Celebrate a bounty of tender spring veg in this sunshine-filled quiche. It happily feeds 12, can be made a day in advance and fridge-stashed till needed, plus it’s perfectly portable, so it’s ideal for transporting to a picnic, pot-luck party or buffet.
Everyone needs a fail-safe pie recipe in their repertoire, and this one is pretty special. Buttery, golden pastry encases chicken, pancetta and sweet leeks in a creamy cider sauce – it hits the spot every time. Serve it up in a gorgeous pie dish with lashings of gravy.
This is everything you know and love about a classic fish pie, but flipped on its head! Tartare-spiked mash is used to line a casserole pan, which is loaded up with salmon, prawns and lots of lovely veg, then baked until golden. Pop the pan in the middle of the table (on a heatproof surface first, obvs) and let everyone dig in.
Robust root veg, porcini mushrooms and lentils form the base of this dark and delicious cottage pie, then it’s topped with rosemary-studded mash and baked until bubbling and golden. Get yourself a gorgeous casserole pan for this, so you can take it straight to the table and tuck in.
Banging bakes
Gnarly sausages, garlic and rosemary focaccia croutons bring big flavour to this bean and sausage bake – and you’ll only need five ingredients to make it! Go effortlessly from oven to table by using a stylish roasting dish, like Jamie’s Epic Roaster, from his Big Love range.
You can’t beat a good-old traybake, and this one seriously delivers on the flavour front. Gnarly sweetheart cabbage, punchy gochujang, chicken thighs with crispy skin and pearly white meat – it’s a thing of joy. Serving it straight from the roasting tray on the table means everyone can grab (or fight for…!) their favourite bits.
The clue is in the name with this one: hearty veggie stew is piled high inside crunchy golden pastry, then finished with a creamy feta topping – does it get much more satisfying than that? Bake this in a ceramic roasting tray so you can simply pop in the middle of the table and let everyone dig in.
Rich beef ragù contrasted with an oozy cheese sauce and soft canelloni tubes – as pasta bakes go, this is definitely up there. Bake in a deep roasting tray until gorgeously golden, then serve it in the middle of the table with a big seasonal salad dressed in a squeeze of lemon and a little extra virgin olive oil. Perfection.
Not to be dramatic, but you need this principle pasta bake in your life. It’s not only delicious, it’s completely vegan and ideal for oven-to-table feasting. Leeks, broccoli and spinach are whizzed into a gorgeous green sauce, then tossed with pasta, topped with crispy breadcrumbs and baked until irresistible. Feel free to swap in a non-vegan Cheddar if you’re a cheese fiend.
Perfect puds
Big up seasonal winter berries and apples in this super-comforting pie. With stem ginger, cinnamon and sweet shortcrust pastry, this is a proper cosy pud. Serve it straight from your favourite pie dish with a dollop of custard, scoop of ice cream, or both!
If you love winter berries but they aren’t in season, this budget-friendly crumble will serve you well. Frozen mixed berries and apples are baked until soft, and topped with a sweet oaty crumble that's sure to make you smile. Serve up in the middle of the table with a stack of bowls and tub of vanilla ice cream, then let everyone help themselves. Easy peasy.
Okay, we know this isn’t baked in the oven, and you probably won’t eat it at a table (it’s giving sofa vibes), but making a cake inside a mug that you then eat out of is just genius. We like to microwave these to order in Jamie’s Cosy Cuppa mugs – it doesn’t get much cosier than that. Enjoy!
