About the recipe
Making a quick batch of overnight oats that will sit happily in the fridge for up to 3 days, ready to be transformed with all kinds of different flavours, is a really helpful, nutritious, delicious thing to have in your life. This is the mothership recipe, which is perfectly tasty in its own right, but when you check out the other variations (see below), you’ll see there’s a whole lot more to love about this breakfast…
Recipe From
2 ripe bananas (320g)
700ml semi-skimmed milk or your favourite unsweetened, fortified plant milk
2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
300g porridge oats
2 eating apples
Be sure to use gluten-free oats, to keep this gluten-free, and your favourite unsweetened, fortified plant milk to keep this dairy-free and vegan.

Swap ripe bananas for green bananas – they contain more prebiotic fibres that feed your healthy gut bacteria. They’re also a resistant starch, so their sugars are released much slower, giving you a great start to the day.
