From quick dips to frightening fruity creations, these easy, eye-catching party snacks are guaranteed to put smiles on faces.

Slime-green dip
Get into the Halloween spirit with a fun, slime-green dip that’s jam-packed with the good stuff. Heroing big-hitting kids’ favourites (including pesto and cream cheese), this healthy Halloween party snack takes just a few minutes to make – so it’s perfect for last-minute party panics!
Serve with crunchy seasonal crudités for extra veg points (use a crinkle cutter, if you’ve got one). Or ramp up the Halloween vibes with your own ghost, pumpkin or bat crackers, made from wholemeal tortilla wraps, for super-spooky scooping.
Serves 8
Total time: 5 minutes
Method
- Cook 200g of frozen peas for 3 minutes in boiling salted water, then drain.
- Tip into a food processor with 2 tablespoons each of pesto and cream cheese, squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon and blitz until combined.
- Transfer to a spooky bowl and serve with your creepy crackers and crudités.
Mini monster pancakes
Mini snacks that can be eaten on-the-go are always a hit with little ones, and these monster pancakes are no exception! For a Halloween twist on a snacking favourite we’ve used fresh spinach to add creepy colour (and give them an easy veg boost) and whipped cream cheese to make faces. Get the kids to help you out for extra fun.
Serves 8
Total time: 20 minutes
Method
- Place 220g of baby spinach, 350g of self-raising flour and 250ml of milk in a blender. Crack in 1 free-range egg, grate in 100g of Cheddar cheese and blitz until smooth.
- Put a large non-stick frying pan on a medium heat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When hot, add heaped teaspoons of the pancake mix and cook for around 3 minutes, or until little bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook briefly on the other side (you’ll need to work in batches).
- Transfer to a plate. Whip some cream cheese with a fork, then load into a piping bag and pipe it into scary faces to bring your little monsters to life! You could also add pops of fresh red chilli to bring out their features – just make sure it’s not too spicy.
Spooky melon balls with raspberry sauce
Serve up a sweet yet healthy Halloween treat with this striking centrepiece. Using just three ingredients, it’s so simple and lots of fun for the little ones. Using a melon baller will really add to the effect here, if you've got one.
Serves 8
Total time: 15 minutes
Method
- Halve 1 ripe, juicy melon (use a sharp knife to create zigzag ‘teeth’ for extra impact), then scoop out and discard the seeds. Cut the bottom off to create a flat base, then make little balls from both halves using a melon baller, ice cream scoop or measuring spoon.
- Scoop the remaining melon flesh into a blender along with any juice, add 150g of fresh or frozen raspberries, squeeze in the juice of ½ a lemon and blitz until smooth.
- Pile the melon balls back into one half of the melon, pour over the raspberry sauce, and tuck in!
Frightening fruits
Need a few more Halloween snacks to finish your spread? The fruit bowl is your best friend. Peel a few clementines, then poke a tiny piece of cucumber or the stem of a fresh chilli into the top to make edible mini pumpkins.
